Sourcing the pure deep-sea waters off the Kona Coast of Hawaiʻi's Big Island Kona Butterfish Company is an aquaculture fish farm that works in partnership with The Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaiʻi Authority (NELHA).
Embracing Hawaiiʻs love of "butterfish," the product brand will be called Kona Butterfish Company.
HAWAII OCEAN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY PARK
Hawaii Ocean Science and Technology Park (HOST) is a unique outdoor demonstration site for emerging renewable energy, aquaculture and other oceanbased sustainable technologies. HOST Park has become the world’s premier ocean science innovation hub and operates at the nexus of water, energy, and food. Three sets of pipelines deliver cold deep-sea water from up to 3,000 ft. depth as well as warm pristine surface sea water. Current equipment and pipeline infrastructure can pump up to 100,000 gallons per minute of seawater throughout the 900- acre technology park.

Blue Ocean Barns and SIS Sites
The plan assumes purchasing the lease of the Blue Ocean Barns site and subleasing the adjacent SIS site.
The project development is proposed to be implemented in three phases, with tanks, equipment and associated biological assets scheduled accordingly, as follows:
1.100MT production capacity starting in 2025
2.Increase to 300MT production capacity starting in 2026
3.Increase to 600MT production capacity starting in 2027
